The mangrove ecosystem is the habitat of thousands of species of fish and the livelihood of millions of people. But this mangrove ecosystem is degraded. Almost half of the mangrove ecosystem is degraded due to anthropogenic activities. If the rate of deforestation continues like that then mangroves will not be there in upcoming years. That’s why International Day for the conservation of the Mangrove ecosystem is organized.
